What is SuTree?
SuTree is a knowledge community and an aggregator of instructional & educational
videos. SuTree allows you to learn virtually everything by watching how-to videos
from all over the web and to communicate with others who share the same interests.
SuTree comprises of mainly video lessons with the exception of language audio lessons.
What does SuTree mean?
The name SuTree comes from the combination of the words:
Sutra – which
literally means a rope or thread that holds things together, and more metaphorically
refers to a collection of knowledge in the form of a manual,
and Tree – symbolizing
the growth of knowledge.
How is SuTree special?
SuTree provides a central place for all visual knowledge that is available
on the internet. The videos added to the site are checked and approved by the SuTree
team in order to provide our users with high quality tutorials. SuTree offers more
than 10,000 educational videos from over 200 different sites. SuTree is the only
site that combines the aggregation element of diversity and magnitude with quality.
Each video is being checked and approved by the SuTree staff, sorted, tagged, and
categorized. The site allows each user to personalize his page, and connect with
other users in the SuTree community.

What can I learn on SuTree?
You can use SuTree to learn just about anything that interests you. By
pressing on the preferred category you can find relevant, valuable videos.
How do I find the video that I'm looking for?
You may find specific videos using the search field. Simply enter the videos
name or related search words and click on "Search".
Who approves the videos that are added to the site?
All videos that are added to the site are checked and approved by the SuTree
team. In due course, senior members will also be able to approve videos.
What are the video categories?
The video categories help users to choose between different study subjects.
All videos are organized and categorized in order to make the site's use easier.
How do I join SuTree?
You may join SuTree by pressing on the "Sign Up" button. Then,
choose a user name and a password and enter a few details about yourself. A confirmation
mail will be sent to your e-mail box. Press on the link sent in the conformation
mail to finish the registration process.
Why should I join SuTree?
SuTree's basic use does not require registration. However, it is highly
recommended that you register, in order to be able to use all SuTree functions
and
possibilities to their full extent. SuTree's registered users can create and join
courses, save their favorite videos, wrap and share video lists with friends, connect
with other users and more.
How do I share videos with others?
In order to share a video, click on the "Send to a friend" button that
is located below every video. Then enter the e-mail address of your friend and your
details and press "Send". You may share single videos or "Wrap & Send" several
videos together.
What is the "Add to My SuTree" button?
The "Add to My SuTree" button allows you to save specific videos in your
personal page on SuTree (under "my favorite videos"). The button appears next to
each video on the site. Please note that this feature is available for SuTree's
registered members only.
What is the "Search" field for?
The "Search" field helps
you find videos in subjects that interest you or specific videos you may be looking
for. Simply enter relevant search words in order to search the SuTree site for the
videos you are seeking.
What are tags?
Tags are key words that help define and sort the videos, courses and people
on SuTree. Pressing on a tag tracks the videos, courses and people that carry that
tag. You may also enter a tag name to the search field in order to find the video
you are seeking.
What is the "Explore Tags" button?
The "Explore Tags" button directs you to the "Tags Cloud", which presents
most of the tags in the site, with emphasis on the most popular ones. After clicking
on a tag, a list of related videos, courses and people will be tendered.

What is the "Wrap & Send" button?
The "Wrap & Send" button allows you to wrap several videos together
in order to create your own video list. You may wrap together any lessons you wish.
You can then send your list to any person you think will find it helpful or interesting,
for example: is your friend going on a diet? or maybe your parents are traveling
abroad? "Wrap & Send" them a unique list of helpful videos.
What is the value of "Wrap & Send"?
The "Wrap & Send" feature enables you to send a list of videos in an
easy and organized way to anyone you think may find the list helpful or interesting,
You can send the tailored list of videos from all over the web to friends, family
and students, the list will be delivered in a link form.
How do I "Wrap & Send"?
The "Wrap & Send" button appears next to each lesson on the site. Click
on it to start creating your video list. After clicking on the button, you will
be directed to a page where you'll be asked to either 'Continue' and add more videos
to your list, 'End & Send' your list or 'Discard' your action. If you decide
to 'Continue' and add more videos to your list, a new window will be opened that
will allow you to continue editing your video list. Your list will be saved in your
"My SuTree" page.
How can I view my "Wrap & Send" history?
All of the lists you have sent will appear on "My SuTree", under "My videos".
Simply press on the "I Wrapped" link to view your lists and their details.

Who adds video links to the site?
In addition to the upload of content from users and the SuTree team, the
site currently supports automatic indexing of video segments from partner sites.
Automatic indexing requires SuTree’s approval and is implemented using RSS feeds
of partnering sites.
How do I add a video link?
Upload a video link by clicking on the "Contribute" button, which is located
on the upper side of SuTree's pages. Then, fill in the required details: the video's
name, technology, duration, link, tags etc. You may choose a category under which
the video will appear or leave the category field empty thus letting the SuTree
team categorizes it. To finish, agree to SuTree's Terms of Use and click "Finish".
Please note, that in order to add a video link you must be a registered member.
How do I categorize a video I added?
In the process of adding a video link, you will be requested to choose
a category for your lesson. Simply choose the most suitable category from the numerous
options SuTree offers.

Where do I keep my personal information?
Your personal information will appear on the "My SuTree" page. Your e-mail address, however, will not be displayed. You may change your personal
information at any point.
Who can see my personal information?
SuTree's registered members will be able to view the information on
your
personal page.

You may change your personal details by entering your personal page
and
clicking on the "Edit" link.

What is "My SuTree"?
"My SuTree" is your homepage. After registration to SuTree, you'll be able
to start personalizing the "My SuTree" page. Add your details, things you're good
at, things you'd like to learn, your blog or site (if you own any) and more.
What is the "My Lessons" Section?
"My Videos" section contains the videos you marked as favorites. Each video
has an "Add to My SuTree" button next to it. Clicking on it will automatically add
the video your favorite list. In addition, the "My Videos" section displays your
recently watched videos, your recently added videos and your recently requested
videos – all in chronological order.
What is the "My Courses" Section?
The "My Courses" section enables you to open a course in whichever subject
you consider yourself to be an expert, using the "Open a new course" link. You can
add a video list to your course, consisting of all the videos that are relevant
to the subject. In addition, you may add comments to the videos you list, share
your knowledge using the course blackboard and more. In the "My Courses" section,
a list of all the courses you joined and/or manage will be displayed.
What is the "My Friends" Section?
The "My Friends" section consists of a list of all your friends on SuTree
(people you added to your friends list using the "Add to your friend list" button
which is displayed on each user's personal page). The friend requests waiting for
your approval and the requests that you have made will be shown as well.
What are the "Super Smart Heroes" icons?
For most of the activities you do on the sit, you will get points. You
can then use these points to add icons of different famous figures that are known
for their wisdom to your personal page. The different figures will be given according
to the number of points you have. You may also give these icons to other users as
tokens of appreciation.

What is the "Videos" section?
SuTree is an aggregator of educational and instructional videos.
Therefore, most
of the videos on the site are, in fact, links to videos
from all over the web.
Videos refer to SuTree's video lessons, tutorials and how to guides, which
are educational and instructional. In SuTree homepage the "Videos" section includes
SuTree's featured videos, as well as the recently watched ones. When entering a
specific category or using the search field "Videos" are sorted differently. Each
video carries a tag, so you may find videos that interest you by clicking on the
preferred tag or by entering the tag word to the search field.
What is the video's rating?
The video's rating is the average rating given to the video by its viewers.
You can rate the videos you watch by pressing on the preferred number of stars you'd
like to give it, the stars are placed underneath each video. Please note that this
feature is available for SuTree's registered members only .
How do I know what is the source of a video?
The source of each video is stated underneath it, among other details regarding
the video.
How do I send a video to a friend?
In order to send a video to a friend,
click on the "Send to a friend" button placed underneath it. Then, fill in the required
details – e-mail address of the friend, your name and remarks. To complete the process,
press on the "Send" button. You may share single videos or "Wrap & Send" several
videos together.
How do I comment on a video?
Comment on a video by pressing on the "Comment" button placed underneath
each video. Enter your comment and press "Submit" to complete to process. Please
note that this feature is available for SuTree's registered members only.

What is the "Courses" section?
Users may open courses in any subject they specialize in. The courses consist
of
a list of lessons relevant to the subject, comments the course owner added to
the videos, a blackboard for Q&A and more. In the "Courses" section, a list
of the courses on SuTree will be displayed. Each course is tagged. You may find
the courses that interest you by clicking on the preferred tags or by using the
search field.
How do I create a course?
Enter the "Courses" section in the "My SuTree" page. There, you will find
a "Create a new course" button. Click on it and start adding videos that relate
to your course's subject. Add comments and guidelines to each video, manage a bulletin
board for your course's members and let your knowledge shine!
What is the value of creating a course?
The course feature helps people who consider themselves experts in a certain
field spread their knowledge using SuTree's many video tutorials. Professionals,
instructors and teachers who can't or don't want to go through the hassle of producing
videos can use this feature to make a course for their students or audience. In
effect, a user may build a course which gathers all of the visual information regarding
a certain subject that is available on the web.
The manager of each course can contribute
from his own previous knowledge by adding comments to the videos and publishing
notes on the course's blackboard.
What is the "Add to Course" button?
After starting a new course, the "Add to Course" button will appear, in
order to let you choose which lessons will be added to it. The "Add to Course" button
also enables you to dynamically update your course. Click on it to add the preferred
lesson to the video list in your course.
How do I send courses to friends?
Send a course to your friends by sending them the URL of the course.
They
will then be able to join it after signing to SuTree.
How many courses can I create?
You may crate as many courses as you wish to.
Who can join courses that I've opened?
Any registered member of SuTree may join the course you've started.
How can I join courses that others have opened?
Join any course you wish to by pressing on the "Join this course" button
in the course's page.

What is the "People" section?
The "People" section allows you to connect with other SuTree users based
on common interests. Each user can create a profile in which he states which subjects
he takes interest in. These subjects serve as tags that help users find others with
the same interests. In the "People" section, you will be able to see all of SuTree's
members. Lists of the most active members, the recently joined members and SuTree's
featured members will be shown as well.
How can I connect to people who share my interests?
SuTree enables you to search for people with the same interests as yours.
Click on the tag word that interests you or enter it to the search field.
A list
of SuTree's members who also take interest in that subject will appear.
You can
then see their profile, add them to your friends list, and ask questions
by writing
on their blackboard.
What can I share with other users who have the same interests as me?
You can share knowledge, ask and answer questions and raise topics that
interest you by writing on the other member's blackboard.

What is a widget?
It is supposedly short for `window gadget' and refers to components in
a graphical user interface (buttons, sliders, menu bars, title bars, and all the
other things that windows can have or contain).
What widget does SuTree offer?
Currently, SuTree offers a video search widget for blog/site owners. The
widget enables their readers to easily search for instructional videos on SuTree
directly from their site. We are now working on more SuTree widgets, If you would
like to receive an alert when a new widget is released, please let us know here.
How do I add SuTree's widget to my blog/ site?
Add SuTree's widget by pressing on the "Widgets" button which is located
on the top of the page. Then, personalize the widget according to your taste.
